CLINTON, S.C. – Now that a three-match road swing is firmly behind the Presbyterian College lacrosse team, the attention turns to Merrimack and Manhattan who the Blue Hose will close the pre-Big South schedule against this weekend at Bailey Memorial Stadium.
Both members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Warriors and Jaspers will visit Clinton on Friday and Sunday, respectively. They've both been to PC once each in their history, and in the case of Merrimack, will be at Bailey in back-to-back seasons.
Presbyterian looks to regain some momentum before the league schedule takes over following a bitter 11-9 loss at FDU earlier in the week.
Manhattan and Merrimack were the bottom two schools in a 12-team division last year, each starting 2026 with some rough sledding but appearing to perhaps turn the corner.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- Merrimack converted to the MAAC last season after spending their first five D-I campaigns associated with the Northeast Conference, beating the Blue Hose by a 15-9 count which ended up being their lone win of 2025.
- A Warrior alum, head coach Jen Fox Sargent is in her fifth season with the program and has guided her club to consecutive wins by 21 total points over New Haven and Big South member Radford.
- They produced eight first-period goals in that lopsided victory against the Highlanders, finding four hits apiece by Lindsay Atkinson and Kaitlin Roche.
- PC and Merrimack have identical records at this stage of the season, with the Warriors specializing in draw controls (plus-42 advantage in that department).
SCOUTING THE JASPERS
- Manhattan has not played a game in the state of South Carolina in 24 months and last visited the Blue Hose way back in 2018 (a ten-point decision in their favor).
- After claiming just two W's last season, the Jaspers again struggled out of the gate with six straight defeats. Among that skid were two losses to FDU and Le Moyne by the same tally (16-10), schools that also butted heads with PC this semester.
- Head coach Jenna Dingler is navigating her seventh season with the Jaspers, getting that elusive first win in their last appearance versus Central Connecticut State handily (16-5).
- Freshman midfielder Ella Brunette paced Manhattan with five strikes to get the monkey off their back, headed to Blue Hose country in three days for their first match in over a full week.
LAST TIME OUT
- PC was just minutes away from acquiring a solid road victory against Fairleigh Dickinson to wrap up their Spring Break trip, but were unable to hold on to a late 9-7 lead as the Knights scored the final four goals.
- Freshman
Harper Johnson realized her first two-point performance and was responsible for the team's last make in the 4
th. Sophomore
Emily Currie also hit the back of the net twice, giving her 14 for the year.
- When Presby went head-to-head with Merrimack a year ago,
Hannah Savage witnessed a career-high three goals and keeper
Kayleigh Aitken saved seven shots in a 45-minute shift.
- Following a six-goal outburst in a resounding win at Delaware State last weekend,
Alyssa Perez is the gang's leading scorer with 18 and has put in at least two scores on five separate occasions.
-
Kate Dominick and
Sydney Howard have won 34 draws between them so far, while
Avery West and
Miranda Castilla have caused 19 turnovers for the opposition.
