PC Drifts to the Northeast to Take on Delaware State

DOVER, Del. – The Presbyterian College lacrosse team continues a three-game road swing this weekend with a far trip to the nation's first state, taking a near-10-hour path to Delaware State on Saturday night. Opening draw in Dover is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

PC will remain at a great length from home next Tuesday as well with a visit to Fairleigh Dickinson, hoping to win their ninth in a row against DSU tomorrow.

There is no other Division I program that the Blue Hose have beaten more regularly than the Hornets, as Presbyterian holds a 3-0 mark versus Delaware State under head coach Eric Clakeley and 8-0 all-time.

The Scotsmen will aim for a better result than their midweek setback at Kennesaw State, dropping a 13-6 decision to the Owls in Georgia.

PC has scored at least 11 goals in all eight attempts versus Delaware State, winning by mercy rule in Clinton last year thanks to a seven-score effort by then-freshman Emily Currie.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS

- DSU is trying the steer the ship in the right direction following an 0-5 start, currently in the middle of a 14-match losing streak that dates back to last spring.

- Head coach Madeline Price is in her second year at Delaware State, obtaining a single victory in 2025 over D-III Trinity Washington. They've been outscored by a total margin of 96-15 this semester.

- The Hornets have lost each game this season by at least 14 points. They took a cross-country haul to Oregon earlier this week where the Ducks sprinted to a 20-3 final tally.

- While Delaware State's struggles are apparent, tomorrow's matchup will be their home opener when PC comes to town.

LAST TIME OUT

- Presbyterian was held scoreless in the first quarter of Wednesday's Kennesaw loss, unable to counter an 18-3 edge in draw controls and switching between six and seven-point deficits throughout the second half.

- Sophomore attacker Kate Dominick was selected as the Big South Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after a five-point performance to help defeat New Haven. She and Alyssa Perez have combined for 22 goals in just five matches.

- Currie broke the school record for most goals by a freshman in one game during the Delaware State beatdown 12 months ago, hitting seven times and adding an assist for extra punctuation.

- Her eight points were the most of any Blue Hose player (regardless of class) since 2022. Presby found 18 goals that afternoon at Bailey Memorial Stadium, making nine in either half.
