Presbyterian Suffers Tuesday Road Defeat at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (8-30, 4-8 Big South) dropped a midweek matchup at Wofford on Tuesday night (April 14), falling to the Terriers 11-2 at Russell C. King Field.


The Terriers scored five runs in the first three innings to grab control of the game. Amman Dewberry led the way offensively for PC, homering in the fourth inning. James Green and Matthew Rollison tallied two hits apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wofford started fast out of the gate in Spartanburg, opening the game with three runs on five hits in the first inning.
- The Terriers continued to have success offensively in the second and third innings, plating two more runs to take a 5-0 lead.
- Amman Dewberry got the Blue Hose on the board in the top of the fourth, launching a home run to left field.
- PC cut into the lead in the sixth with another run. The Blue Hose loaded the bases behind a walk and two singles from James Green and Matthew Rollison. A passed ball brought Green in to score from third to close the gap to three. 
- However, the Blue Hose were unable to get closer. Wofford answered in the bottom of the frame with three runs, highlighted by a two-run homer to left field.
- The Terriers tallied their final three runs of the evening in the seventh and came away with an 11-2 victory.

 

 

NOTABLES 
- Amman Dewberry homered for the sixth time this season (tied for the most on the team).
- Matthew Rollison finished the game 2-for-4, recording his 11th multi-hit game of the year.
- James Green went 2-for-3 with a run scored. This is his eighth multi-hit game of 2026. He also extended his on-base streak to 12 games.
- Bo Moody's 22-game on-base streak came to a close.
- Matthew Cannon posted his first hit in a PC uniform in the second inning. He got the starting nod at catcher, his first start behind the plate this season.
- Brody Linker made his first collegiate start on the mound.
- Mason McDaniel tossed 3.0 innings against the Terriers, tying his longest outing of the year.
- Cole Morgan threw a scoreless 1.1 innings.
