CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (10-36, 6-12 Big South) dropped the first game of its three-game series to The Citadel 7-2 on Friday night (May 1) at the PC Baseball Complex.

Amman Dewberry led the way for the Blue Hose, hitting his tenth home run of the season in the sixth inning. However, the Bulldogs plated four runs in the third inning to jump out to a lead, finishing the evening with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were held scoreless in the first two innings. In the third, The Citadel struck first, scoring four runs to grab a 4-0 advantage. The Bulldogs scored the first run of the inning on a squeeze play before tallying three more.
- The Citadel added to its lead in the fourth inning, plating a run on a sacrifice fly RBI.
- The Blue Hose got on the board for the first time in the bottom of the frame. With two runners in scoring position, Jonathan Williams came through with a sacrifice fly RBI, bringing around Matthew Rollison from third base.
- Presbyterian got another run back in the sixth inning after Amman Dewberry launched a solo home run to right field, closing the gap to three.
- However, PC was unable to get any closer. The Citadel posted runs in the eighth and ninth innings to come away with a 7-2 victory on Friday night in Clinton.

NOTABLESÂ
- Amman Dewberry hit his team-leading 10th home run of the season, leaving the yard in the sixth inning on a long ball to right field.
- Cam Mallo helped lead Presbyterian offensively, going 2-for-3 with a walk. This is his sixth multi-hit game of the season.
- Bo Moody, Matthew Rollison, and Emory Guilford also tallied a hit for PC.
- Aidan Taylor got the start at third base for the Blue Hose.
- Tyrell Williams made his tenth start of the year on the mound. He pitched 4.0 innings, allowing just two hits.
- Robbie Boykin was excellent in relief for Presbyterian, tossing a season-high 4.0 innings. He allowed just four hits and one run while striking out two.
- JJ Harrell finished the game for the Blue Hose, pitching the ninth inning.
