BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (12-42, 8-14 Big South) cruised to a Thursday night (May 14) road win over Gardner-Webb, defeating the Runnin' Bulldogs 11-2 at Bill Masters Field.

The Blue Hose turned in one of their best offensive performances of the season, tallying 11 runs on 14 hits. Layton Hyneman led the effort, going 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Tyrell Williams earned the win on the mound, tossing five strong innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gardner-Webb opened the game with a run in the bottom of the first, getting on the board with an RBI single.
- Presbyterian answered immediately in the second, tagging the Runnin' Bulldogs for four runs. Brody Linker recorded a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game. Holden Baker followed with an infield single, putting PC on top 2-1.
- Layton Hyneman kept the effort going, drawing a bases-loaded walk. Andrew Albertus stepped up to the plate next, plating PC's final run of the second inning on an RBI fielder's choice.
- The Blue Hose stayed hot in the third, adding to their lead on a single from James Green. Amman Dewberry came around to score on a fielding error.
- Gardner-Webb cut into the lead in the bottom of the frame before Presbyterian jumped on the Runnin' Bulldogs again. In the top of the fourth, Bo Moody came through with a massive two-RBI single to push the lead up to five. Later in the inning, Moody executed a double steal attempt, putting another run on the board.
- The bats for PC cooled off until the sixth, where Green brought Emory Guilford in to score on an RBI single to center.
- Layton Hyneman plated the final two runs of the evening for Presbyterian in the seventh, crushing a two-run homer to left field.
- Robbie Boykin and JJ Harrell finished off the road win for PC, tossing a scoreless final four innings to complete an 11-2 victory.

- Presbyterian recorded its fourth straight win over Gardner-Webb. The Blue Hose have now won six of the past seven meetings.
- Layton Hyneman delivered a career game, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. His two hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs are all career-highs. He also hit the first home run of his collegiate career in the seventh inning.
- Emory Guilford had a huge day at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with his team-leading 14th double of the season. This is his 14th multi-hit game of the year and his fifth time recording three hits in a game.
- Holden Baker logged his second multi-hit game of the season. He went 2-for-4 and logged his 10th RBI of the year.
- Bo Moody posted his 18th multi-hit performance of 2026.
- Andrew Albertus extended his hit streak to six games.
- Tyrell Williams made his 12th start on the mound this year, tossing five innings. He earned his second win of 2026, allowing five hits and two runs.
- Robbie Boykin and JJ Harrell were dominant out of the bullpen. Boykin threw a scoreless 2.1 innings, allowing three hits while striking out three. Harrell closed out the game, pitching a clean 1.2 innings. He recorded four strikeouts, tying his career-high.
