CLINTON, S.C. - Though the Presbyterian College five took the early lead, the Newberry College quintet soon found themselves and defeated the home club by a margin of 56 to 20 in a fast game here tonight.
The teamwork of the visitors was spectacular and could not be broken by the Blue Stockings, although they fought against odds to the last ditch. The score ended 29 to 9 in the first half.
McPhee and Wallet of the visitors divided scoring honors, the former having counted for 10 field goals while the later was accredited with one goal less this number. Scott, for the Presbyterians, played his usual clever game, and Williamston at guard, although handicapped by the game of his opponents, exhibited good form.
Both teams substituted frequently during each quarter of the game.
