Clinton (AP) - Presbyterian College threw the Little Four basketball race wide-open here Tuesday night, scalping Newberry's Indians, 95-75. Had Newberry won, the Indians would have had a 5-1 league record and would have clinched at least a seasonal tie for first place.
Presbyterian's convincing victory catapulted the rebounding Blue Hose back into the picture with a 3-2 record, compared to the Lutheran school's 4-2 mark. Wofford, with a 3-1 standing, is now the Little Four pacesetter.
Playing before an overflow home crowd of 1200 Presbyterian swapped shots with Newberry for the first six minutes, during which the lead switched hands five times.
