It's all over but the final shooting in South Carolina collegiate Little Four basketball circles.
Wofford, Presbyterian and Newberry have ended up in a three-way tie for the pennant and will be in hot contention for the loop's annual tournament title Friday and Saturday nights at Anderson.
Whipping boy of the top three all season long has been Erskine, which meets Presbyterian in the Friday night tourney play nightcap. Wofford and Newberry meet in the opener.
The winners meet for the title Saturday night with the losers playing a consolation tilt.
Wofford assured itself of a top tie with Presbyterian and Newberry by beating Erskine Saturday night, 78-60. Wofford walked off with the game, Trap Hart leading double-figure scorers with 25 points.
Erskine moved to within one point of Wofford a few minutes before the half, but faded after that. Jerry Wolff led Erskine with 18 points.
Newberry, Wofford, and Erskine each meet one non-loop foe this week to close out the regular schedule. Newberry is at home to North Georgia State Monday night, while Wofford is host to Belmont Abbey and Erskine to Mercer in Tuesday night games.
