PC ROLLS PAST CALDWELL AT DISNEY TIP-OFF CLASSIC

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Presbyterian College used a strong second half to defeat Caldwell 72-51 Saturday at Disney's Division II Men's Tip-Off Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Fla.

The Blue Hose (1-1) got 30 points from their bench as they turned a four point halftime lead into 21 point victory. Brian Epperly came off the bench and in 18 minutes of play scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Oviedo native Pat Kiscaden contributed eight points off the bench.

Fellow Oviedo High School graduate Grant Herren led Presbyterian in scoring and rebounding with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Caldwell (0-2) was able to pull within two points twice early in the second half but could not get any closer. The Cougar's B.J. Suchy made a lay-up to bring the score to 40-32, but Presbyterian came back with a 13-3 run that put the game away for good. Suchy tied his career high with 17 points.

The first half was competitive with multiple lead changes and ties. Presbyterian ended the half on a 6-2 run. Caldwell thought they had pulled to within one when Jean Georges half-court shot went in at the buzzer, but the officials ruled that he did not get it off in time. Georges finished with 11 points for the Cougars.

Presbyterian will play Philadelphia at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, while Caldwell will meet Bridgeport in 11:30 p.m. contest.
