BLUE HOSE EDGE BOBCATS IN OT

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA. - Presbyterian College hit eight out of ten free
throws in overtime to knock off Georgia College & State University 64-61 Tuesday night in the Centennial Center. Neither team hit a field goal in the extra period, but PC (4-1) won its third straight game, while GC&SU struggled from the foul line all night.

PC jumped on top early by opening the game on an 11-2 run through the first five minutes, but GC&SU would rally to get within two points five minutes later on a jumper from Aaron Gibbs. The Blue Hose got back on track and led by as many as 12 points late in the period before settling for a 33-24
advantage at halftime.

The Bobcats would rally again in the second half as Cooper Sellers twice hit three-pointers to tie the game. GC&SU finally took its first lead nine minutes into the frame on a three-point play from Bishop Tiller to put the Bobcats on top 44-41. The lead would see-saw the rest of the way with GC&SU's Jeremy Mayweather hitting a short jumper to knot things up at 56-all with 17.4 seconds in regulation. PC missed a shot at the buzzer to force the extra period.

Drew Biggs hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining in overtime to give PC a 64-61 advantage, and Gibbs narrowly missed a long three-pointer at the buzzer to end the game. GC&SU went 0-for-6 from the floor in the extra period, while PC went 0-for-4.

Despite hitting five out of six from the free throw line in overtime, it
was poor free throw shooting during regulation that helped doom GC&SU as the Bobcats hit only 20 out of 34 (59%) for the game.

Johann Collins led PC with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Tray
Ballenger added 11, and Biggs scored 10 points. Aaron Clark led GC&SU with 13 points, while Bryan Harrison scored 12, and Sellers finished with 11 points. Five players fouled out in the game, including four GC&SU players.

PC returns to action Friday night as they take part in the SAC/Peach Belt Clash in Aiken, S.C. The Blue Hose will face Lander University Friday night at 5:30 before taking on host USC-Aiken on Saturday night at 7:30.
