BOBCATS SHOOT PAST BLUE HOSE 79-67

CLINTON, S.C. - Georgia College & State University placed three players in double figures led by senior forward Jeremy Mayweather's (Statham, Ga.) career-high 27 points to lead the Bobcats to a 79-67 victory over Presbyterian College in men's college basketball action Friday night at the Ross E. Templeton Center.

The Bobcats shot 58.6% from the floor in the first half while holding the Blue Hose to 37.0% shooting en route to a 42-29 advantage entering halftime. Mayweather paced the way with 16 first half points on eight-of-eight shooting from the field. PC redshirt sophomore center Martynas Versinskas (Kaunas, Lithuania) paced the Blue Hose with six points in the half.

The Bobcats (6-3) pushed the lead to as many as 22 points at 69-47 at the 10:18 mark of the second half on a dunk by Mayweather. The Blue Hose (10-4) were able to cut the lead to 10 points on four occasions in the final four minutes, but the Bobcats were able to ice the game at the line by going nine-for-12 at the charity stripe.

Mayweather added 11 rebounds to his 13of-16 performance from the floor while senior guard Ronnie Dennis (Abbeville, AL) chipped in 19 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Senor guard Bryan Harrison (Tallahassee, Fla.) rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Bobcats with 13 points and seven assists.

The Blue Hose (10-4) were led by junior forward Grant Herren's (Oviedo, Fla.) career-high 20 points on seven-of-11 shooting from the floor to go along with four boards. Senior center Johann Collins (Raleigh, N.C.) chipped in 14 points and a career-best 15 rebounds on the night.
