CLINTON, S.C.
? Presbyterian College's
women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Liberty
on Sunday afternoon at Martin Soccer Stadium.
The Flames picked up their first victory of the season with
the win to improve to 1-6 on the year, while PC dropped to 3-4 on the 2007
season with the loss.
The Blue Hose gave up the first goal of the match in the
sixth minute when Liberty's Maggie
Woody connected on a free kick from 20 yards out to give the Flames an early
1-0 advantage.
Liberty, who finished
the first half having outshot the Blue Hose 15-8, tacked on another to go ahead
2-0 at the 32:18 mark of the first half when newly inserted Ally Erving made
good on her coach's choice to put her in the game by beating PC goalkeeper Erin
Sinkuler to the far upper right corner of the net.
The Blue Hose held the Flames scoreless for the opening
minutes of the second half, but Liberty
was able to break through with 26 minutes left in the second half.
