CLEMSON, S.C.?The Presbyterian College men's basketball team trailed by only six points to Clemson with two minutes left in the first half, but was unable to stop the Tigers as Clemson defeated the Blue Hose 79 to 58 on Friday night at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, S.C.
PC was led by Al'Lonzo Coleman's (Charlotte, N.C./Vance) 18 points, while Bryan Bostic (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) recorded 17 points, including 12 from behind the three-point line in the loss for the Blue Hose. PC was 23 for 49 from field goal range and shot 46.9 percent in the game, and was 35 percent from behind the arc. PC drained seven three pointers in the game to Clemson's five.
After being down by as many as 11 points halfway through the first half, the Blue Hose outscored Clemson nine to four to cut the deficit to only six points as they trailed 32-38 with a little over two minutes left in the game. To start the second half PC was down 45-34 but a jumper by Coleman cut the Tiger's lead to nine points. Coleman chipped in 12 of his 18 points in the second half, but it wasn't enough to catch Clemson as the Tigers went on to win the game 79 to 58.
Clemson was led by Trevor Booker's 25 points and nine rebounds.
The Blue Hose are back in action on Monday, Dec. 1 when they travel to West Point, N.Y. to face Army. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
