CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Presbyterian College men's tennis team dropped its
third match to open the season, losing 7-0 to Atlantic Coast Conference foe No.
32 North Carolina.
The Blue Hose now stand at 0-3 on the young season after having played three
very good opponents.
PC started the match on the doubles side. The tandem of Andrew Brigham and
Zachary Sprouse at the No. 2 spot put forth tremendous effort, but fell 8-4.
Rookies Edward Snead IV and Ryan Walters competed at the No. 3 position and
lost by an 8-2 count. Top-seeded Matthew Martin and Ivan Ho lost an 8-1
decision.
In singles play, Brigham played in the top spot, falling 6-3, 6-0 to Clay
Donato. Ho, who was playing at the No. 3 position, after falling 6-0 in the first
set to Brennan Boyajian, recorded two points in the second set.
Sprouse came out against a tough opponent at No. 4. He lost 6-2, 6-0 to Jose
Hernandez. James Zaher lost 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 position to Andrew Crone.
At the No. 6 spot, Snead fell to Cameron Ahari 6-2, 6-0.
The Blue Hose return to action Jan. 31 when they play host to Winston-Salem
State at 1 p.m.
