CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College women's soccer team (0-9-0, 0-2-0 Big South) returns home for the first time in two weeks when the Blue Hose host Radford (5-2-1, 1-0-1) on Thursday night and VMI (1-7-0, 0-2-0) on Saturday afternoon. PC will look to knock off a Radford team unbeaten in its last five and a VMI squad that enters the weekend on a five-match skid.
Radford will bring a 5-2-1 overall record and a 1-0-1 Big South marker to Laurens County. The Highlanders blanked Campbell, 3-0, and tied High Point, 2-2, in last week's action and last lost on August 26, against ETSU. Rachel Conway paces the squad with four goals but goals can come from anywhere, with 11 different players finding the net this season.
VMI takes on UNC Asheville before arriving at PC on Saturday. The Keydets have been shut out in their last four matches and fell to High Point (5-0) and Campbell (2-0) over the weekend. The team's lone win came against USC Aiken (1-0) on September 1 and Erika Boggs and Christelle Ndongo each have a goal for the Keydets.
PC holds a 3-1-1 series edge over VMI while trailing Radford, 1-3-1. Last year's match at VMI ended in a 1-1 tie, coming two days after a hard-luck 2-0 road loss against the Highlanders. The Blue Hose have not lost to VMI in the last two meetings.
PC women's soccer team used a Brittany Whitson goal in the second half to force overtime at Longwood on Saturday, but fell midway through the first extra period, 2-1. PC delivered a strong first half, hanging tough with the Lancers (taking three shots to Longwood's four) and taking a scoreless tie into halftime.
PC has scored before its opponent twice this season, with Stephanie Allen scoring both goals (Francis Marion and ETSU).
