CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team announced the signing of two players as Sara McBride (Travelers Rest, S.C.) and Brittany Nuttall (Alpharetta, Ga.) will join the Blue Hose for the 2014-15 season.

“I am extremely excited to welcome Brittany and Sara into our PC family,” said head coach Catherine Dunagan. “They will bring a lot to our team both on and off the court. They are both very athletic, great all-around players and will develop to their fullest potential here at PC. Not only are they great athletes, they are wonderful leaders off the court. I gladly welcome these two young women to Presbyterian College where they will thrive as student-athletes.”

McBride has compiled a long and distinguished career as the captain and No. 2 singles player at Travelers Rest High School, playing on the varsity squad since seventh grade while earning All-Region honors every year. McBride was named to the South Carolina All-State squad as a freshman and sophomore and earned four straight SCHSL Individual tournament selections. She was named the SCHSL AAA Player of the Year as a freshman ad was the team MVP as a freshman and junior to go along with a SCACA North-South All-Star laurel and the Alpha Phi Alpha MLK Award for Outstanding Achievement in Athletics.

McBride has not lost a match in 2012 and 2013, including the playoffs, following a 17-1 record in 2011 and an undefeated region schedule in 2010. She helped the team take a region championship in 2012 and an Upper State championship in 2013. Her father, Mac, is also a Presbyterian College alumnus. McBride has made A-B Honor Roll and serves in Beta Club, Younglife and National Honors Society of High School Scholars.

Nuttall signs with PC as the No. 19 ranked player in Georgia and No. 76 in the Southeast region. She has captured multiple tournaments as a junior United States Tennis Association player and finished in the finals of the 2013 Augusta Southern Level 3 tournament. She is currently listed on Tennis Recruiting's Hot 100 list for October and November 2013. Nuttall also reached the doubles semifinals of her most recent tournament, a Bullfrog USTA tournament in Mobile, Ala., last week.

Nuttall has maintained a 3.5 grade point average at Rivers Academy in Alpharetta, Ga. She also volunteers at North Point Community Church and enjoys attending youth group.
