DeSean Murray opened his college campaign by leading the Presbyterian College basketball team with 14 points in a 113-44 loss to #4 Duke in the season opener for both teams at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C.

PC is next in action Tuesday, Nov. 18, when the team hosts Piedmont in a 7:30 p.m. contest.

Following Murray and his 14 points was Jordan Downing with eight and Markus Terry with six.  Controlling the boards for PC was Murray with seven rebounds.  The Blue Hose shot 34.6% from the field and pulled down 21 rebounds.  From the charity stripe PC was seven-for-11 for 63.6%.

Six Blue Devils scored in double-figures with Jahlil Okafor leading the way with 19.  Allen Grayson followed with 18.  Jefferson Amile paced Duke in rebounds with 10.  Duke shot 60.9 from the field and connected on 16-of-31 three-pointers.  The Blue Devils recorded 46 rebounds in the winning effort.

Tied 2-2 early in the first half, the Blue Devils scored the next 10 straight to take a 12-2 lead with 16:57 remaining in the first half.  Scoring proved to be hard to come by for the Blue Hose, as Duke built a 29-8 lead with 10:36 to go.

After a four minute PC scoring drought, freshman Murray provided a spark of offense for PC with six of his 14 points of the night coming between the sixth and third minutes of the half to make it 44-14 with 3:47 left before intermission.  The Blue Hose would score five more points down the stretch as both teams went into the locker room with the home team leading 57-19.

The second half saw much of the same as the first half with Duke holding the double-digit lead throughout.  The Blue Devils led by as much as 71 in the half before settling on the 69-point, 113-44 win.
