- Winthrop raced out to a 5-0 start in the second set, and tacked on runs of 7-1 and 5-0 to even the match at a set apiece.
- A 4-0 spurt put the Blue Hose on top 12-9 in the third set, but the Eagles answered with an 8-2 run to wrestle the advantage back at 17-14. Presbyterian countered by rattling off the next four straight to snatch a one-point edge, 18-17. With the set deadlocked at 22-22, WU took the next three points to claim the set.
- PC took an 11-7 edge in the fourth set, but a 4-0 spurt by Winthrop helped the Eagles grab a 14-13 advantage.
