Volleyball Announces Jamie Wilson as Assistant Coach

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College head volleyball coach Maddie Moss announced on Wednesday (April 22) the addition of Jamie Wilson as an assistant coach for the Blue Hose.

Wilson arrives to Presbyterian following more than two decades of volleyball coaching experience across the collegiate, high school and club levels. Most recently, she had a successful run as the head volleyball coach of Cleveland Community College. She launched the Cleveland CC volleyball program in 2023 and coached the Yetis for three seasons.

"I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Jamie Wilson as the newest addition to the Presbyterian College volleyball coaching staff," said Moss. "Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across multiple levels, and she will be an important asset to this program in our pursuit of excellence. We are so excited to welcome Coach Jamie to the Blue Hose family!"

"I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to join Presbyterian College as an Assistant Coach," said Wilson. "I want to sincerely thank Head Coach Maddie Moss and Director of Athletics Dee Nichols for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity to coach here. I am excited to get started, be part of this program, and pour into these student-athletes."

In the inaugural season of Cleveland CC volleyball in 2023, she won 21 matches, advancing to the Final Four of the Region 10 Tournament. She was named NJCAA Region 10 Division II Coach of the Year.

She led the Yetis to an even better season in 2024, winning 22 matches while finishing as the runner-up of the Region 10 Tournament. Her squad also made an appearance in the District Championship. Last season, the Yetis had another successful year, tallying 17 victories.

She finished in the top six of Region 10 in all three of her seasons with the Yetis, including two third-place finishes in 2023 and 2024. Under Wilson's direction, nine players were named to the All-Region Team. She guided three players to All-Tournament Team honors as well.

Off the court, her teams achieved great success in the classroom. A total of 28 student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team during her three seasons at Cleveland CC.

Wilson's experience extends well beyond collegiate volleyball. She has a rich history of guiding, mentoring, and developing athletes at all levels. She served as the Founder and Director of Cleveland Chaos Volleyball Club, a position she held for more than 10 years beginning in 2014. She oversaw all aspects of club operations, including program planning, staffing, tryouts, registrations, scheduling, and tournament coordination.

She also had two successful stints as the varsity volleyball coach of her alma mater Crest High School in Shelby, North Carolina. She first coached the Chargers from 2003-2007, where she was named Big South 3A/4A Coach of the Year three consecutive times (2005-07). She returned to Crest in 2013, coaching the Chargers for nine more years. She once again accumulated numerous accolades, earning Big South 3A Coach of the Year three more times from 2017-19.

Wilson earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State, graduating in 2001. She stayed with the Mountaineers for graduate school, completing her Master's Degree in Communication Disorders in 2003.
