Notes: Presbyterian won the only previous meeting between the two teams, 56-54, at Cincinnati, November 19, 2011. Cincinnati was ranked No. 20, which marked Presbyterian's first win over a ranked opponent in the Division I era.
Khalid Mutakabbir scored 25 points including the go-ahead three-pointer with 7.6 seconds on the clock, to help erase a 15-point second-half deficit.
LAST TIME OUT - Presbyterian beat The Citadel, 74-70, in double overtime at the Templeton Center this past Monday, Nov. 15. The Blue Hose had two players record double-doubles (
Rayshon Harrison - 21 pts., 10 rebs.;
Winston Hill - 11 pts., 13 rebs.) and four players tallied double-figure scoring games (Harrison - 21 pts., Hill - 11 pts.,
Trevon Reddish-Rhone - 14 pts. and
Owen McCormack (13 pts.).
The Blue Hose finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds which led to 26 second-chance points.
OVERTIME - Presbyterian has played two straight overtime games which marks the first time that has occurred in the Division I era for the Blue Hose. Presbyterian's first year in Division I was the 2007-08 season. This past Monday, Presbyterian defeated The Citadel, 74-70, which marked the program's first double-overtime game in the program's Division I history.
AT HOME AT TEMPLETON - Presbyterian defeated VMI, 73-72, in overtime in their home opener on Friday, November 12. Presbyterian has now won their home opener in two consecutive seasons. With the 74-70 double-overtime win over The Citadel, the Blue Hose have now won their first two home games of the season for the second straight year. Presbyterian plays 12 more home games in the Templeton Center.
Scouting Cincinnati – Wes Miller is in his first season as head coach after enjoying a successful ten-year stint as the head coach at UNC Greensboro.
Cincinnati enters the game with a 3-0 record after home wins over Evansville, Georgia and Alabama A&M. The Bearcats average 75.7 points per game while limiting their opponents to 59 points per game.
Senior guard David Dejulius leads the team in scoring averaging 13.3 points per game. Junior guard Jeremiah Davenport is second on the team in scoring at 11.3 points and tied for the team-lead in rebounding at 5.3 boards per game.
