Blue Hose Open Busy Week with Back-to-Back Matches

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team opens a busy week beginning on Wednesday afternoon as the Blue Hose welcome in Belmont Abbey to the Templeton Tennis Courts beginning at 2 p.m.. PC will be back on the courts on Thursday afternoon as the Blue Hose travel to Furman for a 3 p.m. first serve.

COACH ROBERTS ON THE WEEK
"I am really looking forward to getting back out there and competing this week," said head coach Joel Roberts. "After we had to postpone our last two due to the weather last week I know the team is ready to go once again. It should be a great week with some great matches."

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
- Belmont Abbey enters Wednesday's match with an 0-3 record on the young season as they dropped a pair of matches last Saturday against Carson-Newman and Tennessee Wesleyan by the score of 7-0
- Kayla Vaughan, Sylvia Goldsmith and Erica Dorn each earned singles wins in an earlier season match against Augusta.
 
SCOUTING THE PALADINS
- Furman comes into Thursday's match with a 5-5 record after suffering a 4-3 setback against Marshall in the Paladins last match.
- The Paladins have played three ranked opponents already in the 2021 season with wins coming against #16 Wake Forest and #18 South Carolina by the score of 5-2. Furman has also faced #10 Duke this season as well.
- Katarina Kozarov leads the Paladins with a perfect 9-0 record at No. 1 singles, while Julia Adams checks in with a 7-3 record playing at the No. 2 singles position.
- Kozarov and Adams lead Furman on the doubles side with a 6-2 mark at the No. 1 doubles spot. 

LAST TIME OUT
- Wednesday's match will be the first time Presbyterian has taken the courts since February 7th against UT Chattanooga as both matches last week against Wofford and Georgia Southern were postponed due to weather in the Clinton area.

UP NEXT
- Presbyterian wraps up its busy week on Sunday February 21st with a 1 p.m. first serve against the College of Charleston in Clinton.
