Blue Hose Host Chattanooga for Home Opener

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team opens its 2021 home schedule on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. as the Blue Hose welcome in Chattanooga to the Templeton Tennis Courts. The match is the first half of a doubleheader on Sunday as the PC women's tennis team is slated to host North Florida at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
 
MATCHDAY CENTRAL
MATCHUP: Chattanooga (0-3) vs Presbyterian (1-0)
TIME: Sunday February 28 10 am
LOCATION: Templeton Tennis Courts (Clinton, S.C.) 

SCHEDULE CHANGES
-  The Blue Hose match against Campbell that was slated for Friday February 26 has been moved to Tuesday March 23 at 2 pm in Clinton.

SCOUTING THE MOCS
- Chattanooga sits at 0-3 during the 2021 spring as they are slated to play Troy on Friday afternoon before make the trek to Clinton for Sunday morning's match with the Blue Hose.
- The Mocs have already faced Alabama and Clemson to begin the 2021 spring season.
- Tomas Rodriguez earned a three-set comeback win over Alabama earlier this season at No. 1 singles.
- Sunday's match will be the third all-time meeting between the Blue Hose and the Mocs with the all-time series sitting at one apiece. Chattanooga defeated PC 6-1 in the most recent meeting last spring.

LAST TIME OUT
- After a number of cancelations to begin the season, the Presbyterian College men's tennis team returned to the court in impressive fashion with a 6-1 win over Mercer on Sunday morning at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Courts.
John Collins earned his first win as the head coach of the Blue Hose men's tennis program.
 
BENSON EARNS BIG SOUTH WEEKLY HONOR
- Presbyterian College junior Max Benson was named the Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week, for the week of Feb. 15-21, the conference announced on Wednesday.
- The Albany, N.Y. native went 2-0 in Sunday's match and started his day off with a 7-6 victory in the No. 1 doubles position. Benson returned to play the No. 1 singles position where he dropped the first set but responded with winning sets of 6-3, 7-6 to earn the victory.
- It is the fourth Big South weekly honor of Benson's career, having been named Freshman of the Week twice in 2019 and Player of the Week once last season.  

UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose return to the court for a mid-week match against Furman on Wednesday, March 3. First serve is set for 3 p.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center.
