Kragh, Marchman Lead PC on Day One at Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Kelli Kragh and Riley Marchman each registered a 77 on Sunday to lead the Presbyterian College women's golf team in the first round of the Kiawah Island Classic. Presbyterian shot a 310 in the first round on the Oak Point course, and is tied for 26th. The three-day, 54-hole event is being hosted by the College of Charleston on the Oak Point and Cougar Point courses at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

East Tennessee State tallied a 286 team score to conclude the day six shots clear of the rest of the field. Dallas Baptist's Faith DeLaGarza carded a 67 to claim the 18-hold lead in the players' standings. Towson's Jordan Cornelius and Murray State's Raeysha Surendran are tied for second, two shots back of DeLaGarza.

Notables
- Kragh dropped in a pair of birdies for the day, which tied for the team lead. The 77 marked the best opening round of her collegiate career.
- Marchman equaled the best opening round of her collegiate career with her 77 on Sunday. Both she and Kragh are tied for 77th. Marchman tied for fourth in the field with 14 pars for the day.
- Serina Combs carded a pair of birdies on her front nine and was one-under par as she made the turn. The senior finished with a 78, which has her tied for 93rd.
- Taylor Gardner set a new collegiate-best for a first round score with a 78. The junior is tied with Combs for 93rd.
- Sanders Hinds posted an 85 on Sunday and is tied for 189th.
