MORGANTON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team finished its third tournament of the spring on Tuesday (March 31) at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, hosted by Appalachian State at Mimosa Hills Golf & CC on March 30-31. The Blue Hose completed their first tournament since playing the Rivertowne Intercollegiate on Feb. 16-17.
As a team, PC came in 11th place, finishing with a total score of 991. Maddie Peake led the way for the Blue Hose, firing rounds of 81, 82, and 76 to finish in a tie for 32nd place. She moved up 13 spots with her final round 76 on Tuesday.
Taylor Reaves, Addy Parker, Gabi Carles, and Emma Louise Hunt also competed for Presbyterian in Morganton.
NOTABLES
- Maddie Peake was PC's highest finisher at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. She carded three birdies on day one of the tournament before making two on Tuesday. She birdied both of her opening two holes in the final round and was an impressive -1 through 10 holes. For the tournament, she led the team in birdies with five. She birdied the par-3 13th hole in all three of her rounds. The 13th yielded just 10 birdies after 54 holes of play.
- Taylor Reaves turned in a total score of 249 to finish in 50th place for the week. She saved her best round for last, carding two birdies en route to a final round 80 on Tuesday to move up the leaderboard. She made a total of 33 pars in her three rounds.
- Addy Parker ended the tournament one shot behind Reaves to finish T51 with a score of 250. She fired an opening round 79, tying her second lowest round of her freshman season. In the first round, she carded two birdies and made eight pars. She was second on the team in birdies for the week with four.
- Gabi Carles made her spring debut in Morganton, competing in her first tournament since the Fripp Island Intercollegiate (held Nov. 1-3). She turned in the lowest round of her collegiate career in the second round on Monday afternoon. In round two, she posted a birdie and seven pars to card an 80, besting her previous career low by three shots. She concluded the tournament in a tie for 55th with a score of 253.
- Emma Louise Hunt rounded out the PC lineup with a total score of 279. She carded 12 pars to finish in 67th place in Morganton.

The Blue Hose will compete on Saturday (April 4) in the UNC Challenge Cup at UNC Finley GC in Chapel Hill.
