FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team finished the second round of the Big South Championship on Monday (April 19) at Ocean Creek GC.
As a team, the Blue Hose wrapped up round two with a total score of 643 to end the day in eighth place.
Maddie Peake bounced back with a 78 to shoot PC's lowest score of the day. Sloane Spessard leads the Blue Hose through the tournament so far, shooting rounds of 73 and 82 to sit in 16th place.
Following Tuesday's final round, the top four teams from stroke play will advance to Wednesday's match play to decide the championship.
NOTABLES
- Sloane Spessard turned in a second round score of 82 on Monday to finish the day in 16th. She birdied the par-4 14th and made eight pars in her round. She enters the final round 12 shots back of the lead.
- Taylor Reaves sits right behind Spessard at +12 for the championship. She carded an 84 on day two, making a birdie on the 17th hole to go along with eight pars.
- Maddie Peake moved up nine spots on the leaderboard with a second round 78. She opened with an 89 on Sunday afternoon but made a birdie on the first hole and 10 pars to lead the team. Going into Tuesday's final round, she sits in 36th place.
- One shot behind Peake in 37th place is Addy Parker. The freshman shot an 84 for the second straight day, birdying the par-5 tenth while carding six pars.
- Emma Louise Hunt rounded out the Blue Hose lineup on day two at Fripp Island. She turned in a score of 86 with nine pars on her card.
