SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Freshman Mariana Polakova led the Blue Hose on Monday at the Terrier Intercollegiate highlighted by a second-round one-under (71) as the Presbyterian College women's golf team is in 15th following the opening two rounds of the event in Spartanburg. South Dakota takes a four-shot lead to the final 18 holes of the tournament shooting a two-round total of 602 on Monday. Jacqueline Klemm of North Alabama holds a one-shot lead in the individual championship sitting at 143 (-1) after 36 holes.
Notables
- Polakova began the day with an opening round of 79 that had her birdie the par-four fifth hole and also tally 11 pars in the first round. The Brno, Czech Republic native tied her season-best on Monday afternoon with four birdies in a seven hole stretch that saw Polakova post a one-under 71. In the second round, she also totaled 11 pars in the round. Polakova heads into the final round with a score of 150 in a tie for 10th.
- Sophomore Sarah Boteler opened the event with an 83 that saw her pick up a pair of birdies on the par-three eighth hole and the par-four 17th hole. Similar to Polakova, the Blue Hose sophomore recorded seven birdies en route to a second-round score of 73. Boteler currently leads all golfers in the field with her nine birdies thus far. Boteler sits in a tie for 34th with a score of 156 after Monday's action.
- Freshman Taylor Reaves began the day with an 89 on her opening round with a birdie coming for Reaves on the par-5 18th hole. Reaves improved by eight shots in the afternoon wave with an 81 as she birdied the par-3 third hole and also added eight pars to her scorecard. Reaves begins Tuesday's action in a tie for 78th with a score of 170.
- Lextyn Petz began the day with a 92 as she recorded five pars in the first round. Petz posted four birdies in round two as she finished with a second-round score of 79 as she also had five pars on her scorecard Monday afternoon. She heads into the final round in 81st place with a score of 171.
- Sofia Carles began the day with an 84 that saw Carles record a birdie on the par-5 13th hole along with seven pars. Carles finished the day with a 93. She enters the final round on Tuesday in 84th place with a score of 177.

PC will play the final round on Tuesday paired with Winthrop and Appalachian State off the 10th tee in Spartanburg. The Blue Hose will start at 9 a.m. with nine-minute increments for Tuesday's round.
