GAFFNEY, S.C. – The 6
th-ranked Presbyterian College women's wrestling team had a minute number of complications during a brief head-to-head with the Limestone Saints on Sunday evening in a true road environment, moving to 5-0 all-time against their in-state adversary since officially becoming a competitive unit. The reason for the brisk nature of the bout was that the Blue Hose racked up eight out 10 victories in rapid succession for a 41-10 triumph in their second dual round of the young season.
Already granted a 15-0 edge with three Limestone forfeits in classes 101-116, PC ensured no comeback would be on the cards for the home side with four straight W's by Catherine "CG" Bertrand,
Olivia Waller,
Sierra Marie Miller, and
Paige Wehrmeister, all by pinfall. From there, the Blue Hose coasted to a record of 1-1 in dual entries, along with nine top-four placements that have already been claimed from their two neutral-site tournaments sprinkled throughout the November lineup.
Coming in 7
th-place across a loaded 123-lb. group at the "Eagle Madness" Life Open last weekend, Bertrand won her fifth match of the fall over Caroline Schmitt that snowballed the lead to 20-0. Waller, a true freshman, followed suit with her own pinfall victory against Alyssa Garza that kept the onslaught going.
The 3
rd-ranked wrestler among all 130-pounders tallied by the NWCA, Miller backed up that standing with a 53-second fall that bested Hannah Mains, the sophomore's eighth individual win out of 11 attempts. Wehrmeister, another nationally-ranked grappler in the 136 class thanks to a perfect 2022 start, made it 35-0 Presbyterian by defeating Clara Padua-Cruz, improving the first-year phenom to 9-0 after four events.
Once the Saints were able to make a miniscule dent in the overwhelming deficit by taking a 155-lb. win, PC closed the lopsided affair on an
Isabella Badon win via decision versus Kalani Rivas. Extending the team's flawless dual record against Limestone over the past four campaigns, the Blue Hose are averaging a 23-point margin of victory when facing their Palmetto State foe, with Sunday's result checking the highest margin thus far in PC's fifth straight win across the series.

Continuing to grow stronger as a unit while putting together a plethora of impressive results over the season's first two weeks, the Blue Hose will enjoy a period of 14-day rest before their next contest on Dec. 4. In what will be the first of two meets to be held at the Templeton Center for the women's program, head coach Zach Schaeffer's squad will go head-to-head with Mount Olive at 4:00 p.m.
The Trojans have published a consistent start to the season themselves as both teams embark on a lengthy cooldown window. UMO will travel to Clinton at 2-0 in dual matches, scooping up a 33-5 win over Lincoln Memorial that followed a 24-18 decision atop Montreat College four days later.
