Women’s Soccer Hits Maximum Limit with Six CSC Academic All-District Placements

CLINTON, S.C. – One of 98 schools that filled as many spots allowed on the list of College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, the Presbyterian College women's soccer club continues its excellent reputation in the classroom with a heap of outside-the-field accomplishments.

Victoria Brook, Reyna Coston, Kelly Hall, Madison Hindman, Lina-Marie Müller, and Caitlin Murphy all met the strenuous criteria to be considered for the esteemed list, with three of those names doing so for the second consecutive year.

In order to be included on the CSC's Academic All-District invitation, one must have maintained a minimum of a 3.5 grade-point average out of the traditional 4.0 scale, while also participating in at least 90 percent of the team's matches through the 2023 season.

Those six student-athletes ticked all of those boxes during head coach Brian Purcell's 35th and final campaign as the program's director. True freshmen are ineligible for CSC Academic All-District praise due to the organization's ruling.

Victoria Brook | So. | Defender | Columbia, S.C.
4.00 | Chemistry
- Displaying a perfect GPA during year two as a Blue Hose, Brook primarily played with Presby's second unit as a defensive-minded position, starting six times and seeing game action in all but one of PC's 16 meetings. Creeping near the 700-minute mark altogether, Victoria was part of a back line that posted three blank sheets (two of which hit in Big South territory) while finding a season-high 78 minutes at Georgia State (August 27). She was named to the Presbyterian President's List in both semesters over the course of the previous academic year.

Reyna Coston | Sr. | Forward | Maryville, Tenn.
3.83 | Business Administration, double concentration in Management and Accounting
- In both of her seasons as an upperclassman, Coston racked up CSC Academic All-District selections while captaining a PC offense that published a pair of league wins against Gardner-Webb and Winthrop in early October. Starting 15 out of 16 appearances, she found her third career assist in the '23 finale (a draw versus Longwood at Martin Stadium) which wraps up her Blue Hose tenure with 11 points and over 3,300 minutes. She was included on the PC President's List last fall while being added to the school's Dean's List in the ensuing semester.

Kelly Hall | Jr. | Goalkeeper | Suwanee, Ga.
4.00 | Business Administration, double concentration in Accounting and Marketing, minor in Spanish
- Backed by a flawless GPA and a two-time membership to the Big South All-Academic team (given to just one student-athlete per institution throughout the league), Hall's credentials – both on the field and away from it – speak major volumes. In 2023, Kelly roamed the keeper's box for over 1,200 minutes in 15 starting roles, saving 73 shots that came in her direction while gaining a personal victory thrice. All three of those W's came while shutting out the opponent, landing a career-high 10 stoppages against Charleston Southern (October 18) while putting together a .745 save ratio for the full season. This is the second straight time that Hall has been featured on the CSC Academic All-District squad, a two-time member of the conference's Presidential Honor Roll and a Presby President's List athlete twice already.

Madison Hindman | Jr. | Midfielder | Florence, S.C.
3.76 | Biochemistry
- One of two Presbyterian players to be named a starter in all bouts across the campaign, Hindman's third go-around in Clinton included over 1,200 minutes of preventative play as she aided in the aforementioned three shutouts. A Dean's List winner in the fall of '22 while going to a President's List accolade four months later, Madison has now featured in 46 affairs while donning the blue and garnet where she's on pace to surpass the 3,000-minute mark as a senior next year.

Lina-Marie Müller | R-Fr. | Forward | Schriesheim, Germany
3.58 | Undeclared
- Becoming the fourth student-athlete in PC's Division I history to earn two separate all-league nods in a single year, Müller's dynamite season produced six assists (the second-highest total ever among all Blue Hose players in a sole season) and 12 points as a whole. Simultaneously voted to the All-Big South 2nd team unit and all-conference freshman squad, Müller found nine points against divisional adversaries while hitting 986 minutes (the second-most of any newcomer on Purcell's roster). Seeing 56% of her shot attempts track on-target, she is a two-time PC Dean's List honoree as she redshirted the prior season.

Caitlin Murphy | Sr. | Midfielder | Blythewood, S.C.
3.96 | Economics and Business Administration double major, double concentration in Accounting and Management
- Joining Coston and Hall as back-to-back recipients of CSC Academic All-District recognition, Murphy has concluded her Presbyterian career with 59 games appeared in that translated to near-3,000 total minutes. Featuring in each match this fall, the South Carolinian witnessed a season-long 61-minute spurt on Senior Day when the Blue Hose locked horns with Western Carolina. Murphy was a member of the PC President's List twice (Fall '22 and Spring '23) while being included on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll during both her second and third years with the program.
