800BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Presbyterian College cross country teams opened its spring slate on Saturday with a pair of Indoor School Records as William Johnson set the record in the 800 meters and Keyli Gomez earned the record in the 3000m. 

 Notables

• Johnson led the Blue Hose in the 800 meter setting his record with a 1:58.53, a little over two seconds better than the previous record for PC.
• In the same race, Kevin Lagat finished the 800m event with a 2:14.41 to finish in 46th.
• Gomez finished her 3000m event on Saturday at 11:49.1 to break the previous best for PC indoor by almost four minutes. 
• In the women's 800 meters, freshman Isabel Whitman led the way with a 2:39.64, while Caroline Rairigh finished at 2:44.55 and Lili Jaraczewski rounded out the trio at 3:02.21. 
• Freshman Samuel Wall was the lone Blue Hose to run in the 400 meters on Saturday and finished with a 59.62.
• The men's and women's teams had strong representation in the mile, with four on both sides. Johnson led the men with a 4:36.58, while Spencer Wieters came in at 5:06.13, just ahead of Wall, who finished at 5:08.73. Lagat rounded out the quartet at 5:17.36.
• Whitman paced the women in the mile at 5:54.25. Gomez finished at 6:00.42, Jaraczewski finished at 6:35.25, and Julie Covil rounded it out at 6:59.85. 
• In the men's 3000 meters, Wieters recorded a time of 10:11.54.
