Blue Hose Have Strong Showing at Electric City Invite

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College cross country teams had nine runners compete on Saturday at the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson University. Keyli Gomez claimed the 1500 meters school record on Saturday as William Johnson led the men's side with a sixth-place finish in his 1500 meters race.

Notables

Johnson led the way in the 1500 meters finishing sixth in his race with a 4:02.18 which set a school record. James Marler posted a 5:04.23 in his 1500m.
In the women's 1500, Gomez set a new school record with a 5:13.92 to lead the women's side. Isabel Whitman finished with a 5:22.78 and Caroline Rairigh finished .3 seconds off from her PR in the 1500 meter at 5:27.41.
Johnson led the way in the 800 meters with a 1:57.89 in his competition. Spencer Wieters posted a 2:09.66 and Samuel Wall finished in a personal record time of 2:12.66.
Whitman led PC in the women's 800 meters at 2:38.69 just ahead of Rairigh who finished at 2:39.82. Gomez was just off of a personal record for her at 2:41.68 on Saturday.
In her lone race on Saturday, Julie Covil finished with a 23:25.34 in the 5000 meters.
Nizeyimana Aristide made his PC debut on Saturday with the 400 meters finishing at 54.56.
The Blue Hose competed in the 4x400 for the first time in program history on Saturday. The group that competed included Johnson, Aristide, Wieters, and Wall as the quartet finished at 3:40.47.
