Lucianna Piedra and Sophomore
McKenzie Davis of the Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's tennis team met the extensive requirements for honors residing outside of the basketball court.
In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District, one must be considered a regular starter or key reserve while competing in at least 70 percent of the team's contests that have a team scoring event throughout the season. Additionally, a minimum 3.5 grade-point average must be submitted, while true freshmen are excluded simply due to the newness factor.

In her final season with Presbyterian College, Piedra demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication on the tennis court, participating in all 21 of the team's competitions and achieving remarkable statistics. She secured victory in 10 singles matches, showcasing her versatility with wins in the No. 2, 3, and 4 positions. In doubles, Piedra achieved an impressive 12 wins while partnering with five different Blue Hose players and playing across all three doubles positions. Her outstanding performances throughout the regular season earned her a well-deserved spot on the Big South All-Second Team Doubles, highlighting her contributions to the team's success.
Academically, Piedra is equally impressive, maintaining a stellar 3.51 GPA. Her dedication to academic excellence is evident through her consistent achievements, including multiple appearances on the Dean's List in the Fall of 2020, both semesters of the 2021 academic year, the spring of 2022, and the spring of 2023. Additionally, she received the prestigious honor of being named to the President's List in the fall of 2023, recognizing her outstanding academic performance. Piedra's commitment to both athletic and academic success has also been acknowledged through her inclusion in the Big South Presidential Honor Roll for three consecutive years, further solidifying her status as a top student-athlete.

Davis concluded her season with the Blue Hose after competing in 21 matches, leaving a lasting impact both on and off the court. On the tennis court, Davis showcased her talent by winning 10 doubles matches, with an impressive eight wins coming from the challenging No. 1 position. In singles play, she secured victory in 11 matches, with 10 of them fiercely contested at the top No. 1 position. Her stellar performances didn't go unnoticed, as she earned the prestigious title of Big South Player of the Week twice during the season. Additionally, her outstanding contributions to doubles play led to her recognition as a Big South All-Second Team Doubles player by the conference.
Off the court, Davis's commitment to academic excellence is equally commendable, maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. Her academic achievements include being named to the school's President's List in both the Fall of 2022 and the Fall of 2023. Furthermore, she was honored with inclusion in the Big South's Presidential Honor Roll for the 2022-23 academic year, highlighting her exceptional academic performance. Davis also gained accolades such as the 2022-23 Big South Commissioner's Award and recognition as a 2022-23 ITA Scholar Athlete. To cap off her impressive season, Davis was named to the league's All-Academic Team, recognizing her outstanding achievements both as a student and an athlete.
