CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian Blue Hose forward Chidi Chiakwelu was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Chiakwelu is the 13th player in the program's history to earn the Big South Freshman of the Week award.
 
PERFORMANCE LAST WEEK
Chiakwelu made three big blocks while scoring four crucial points in Presbyterian's road win at Georgia State last Monday. He recorded his first career double-figure scoring game with 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field at South Carolina last Wednesday. 

For the week, he averaged six points and one block per game while shooting 87.5 percent from the field.

PLAY THIS SEASON
The Houston, Texas native averages. 5.3 points and 1.2 blocks while seeing action off the bench in all six of Presbyterian's games.
