PC Women’s Wrestling Details Winter Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's wrestling team – one of the fiercest programs in the nation who has claimed two consecutive Southeast Region Championships and six All-Americans in back-to-back years – has announced the full schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.

Expectations are sky high for the Blue Hose, who finished 5th as a unit at the NCAA Championships last spring and have eight different wrestlers on the roster who have been named an All-American at least once in their career.

Two-time Region Coach of the Year Brian Vutianitis has directed PC to three straight top-ten placements at Nationals, with the 2026 version being the first under the NCAA umbrella.

Presbyterian has scheduled seven regular-season tournaments this winter, starting with the Princeton Open on November 1. They'll host their own bracket for the third year in a row on November 15 inside Templeton Gymnasium.

PC's six All-Americans last season (Chloe Dearwester, Jenna Anderson, Alyssa Mahan, Maddie Kubicki, May Cuyler, and Maria Aiono) have added up for 335 wins in their respective careers with four individual region titles.

That's not to mention Henlee Haynes and Carina Giangeruso (who are also still on the roster), both winning their own region championships and earning All-America status in prior seasons.

WWR Schedule 2026-27

NOVEMBER

- For the fourth time in the past five years, Presbyterian will open the lid on a new season at a Princeton tournament. They last participated at this event in 2024, where Dearwester and Cuyler both won 1st place in their weight class while making their college debuts.

- This fall will mark the third edition of the "Throwdown on the Yorktown" event, a series of men's and women's duals onboard an active military battleship in Charleston. For the first time, the Yorktown extravaganza will be a two-day timeline.

- PC has been a part of the Yorktown duals since the beginning, defeating Campbellsville two years ago and facing Iowa and Delaware State in 2025.

- This year, the Scotsmen will face Grand Valley State and Iowa on the aircraft carrier on November 7 before then wrestling Delaware State again the next day.

- The same day that the Throwdown begins, a portion of Presby's roster will be elsewhere: a tournament at Mount Olive dubbed the "Trojan Open."

- Coach V and co. will host the Blue Hose Challenge at Templeton on November 15, an event where they've captured 10 combined first-place honors in the last two seasons.

DECEMBER

- PC will wrestle their first true road meet on December 6 in Tennessee, going head-to-head with regional rival King (a contest that is frequently a top-10 affair with multiple All-American candidates competing against each other).

- Nine days after the King dual, Presbyterian comes back to Clinton where they'll line up against nearby Newberry. PC opened last season against the Wolves at a neutral site, cruising to a 43-3 win.

- On December 20, the Blue Hose will fly to Sin City for the Desert Duals in Las Vegas. This event was a profitable one for them last season, as they earned a pair of top-10 victories against #5 Colorado Mesa and #8 Simon Fraser.

- Those were two of eight regular-season wins over opponents in the national top 25, as the Blue Hose went 18-3 in duals overall.

JANUARY

- Presbyterian will engage in a series of duals against other teams from the Palmetto State on January 2, dubbed the "South Carolina Women's Wrestling Showcase."

- The next weekend is a staple on the women's wrestling calendar, as PC will venture to Iowa for the NWCA National Duals tournament. Last winter, they took down four nationally-ranked schools to come in 5th place at the 16-team double-elimination bracket.

- Coach Vutianitis will take his team to Huntingdon in Alabama for a series of duals on January 9 and a tournament the next afternoon. On the 17th, PC will migrate to Georgia for a tri-dual versus Life University and the University of the Cumberlands.

- Three of the last four events on Presby's schedule are of the tournament variety, with the Scotsmen going to Emmanuel for a multi-team event on the 24th and Indiana Tech for a similar tourney on the last weekend of the month.

- PC's third and final appearance in Templeton will take place on January 29 (happening simultaneously with the Indiana Tech bracket), going head-to-head with Montreat.

FEBRUARY + POSTSEASON

- The regular-season finale will be held at Frostburg State in Maryland, a.k.a. the "Bobcat Open" on February 7. Then-freshmen Kaylie Hall and Elizabeth Donovan took gold at this tournament last winter.

- Presbyterian will pursue their third region championship in a row on February 19 and 20. Dearwester, Kubicki, Aiono, and Isabella Gretzinger each went undefeated at regionals last year to win individual trophies.

- PC was one of just four schools in the country who qualified all 10 weight classes to Nationals, using that leverage to set a new program record for best team finish at the NCAA's (5th).

- This season's National Championship tournament will take place on March 5 and 6 in Coralville, Iowa. In the 2026 tourney, Kubicki was PC's highest finisher at 4th place in class 145 (she was the #8 seed going in).

- That made Kubicki the program's first-ever three-time All-American. Elsewhere in the field, Cuyler came in 5th place which was a precursor to her taking the silver medal at the Brazil-based U20 Pan-American Championships in July.
