BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Elon Invitational on Monday (Sept. 14) at Alamance Country Club.
Sloane Spessard led the Blue Hose on day one, ending the second round T25. Chloe Scofield and Addy Parker wrapped up the day in the top 50 as well.
As a team, Presbyterian sits in ninth place with a total score of 607. Elon holds an 11-shot lead going into the final round on Tuesday.
NOTABLES
- Sloane Spessard was PC's highest finisher on day one, turning in rounds of 73 and 76 to be T25. She was on fire in the opening round, leading the team with four birdies. She made two more to close out the day in round two, scoring on the fourth and tenth holes. She was terrific on the back nine of both rounds, finishing a combined +1.
- Chloe Scofield had a great day in Burlington for the Blue Hose, ending the afternoon T36. She poured in four birdies in her second round, taking advantage of the eighth, twelfth, fourteenth, and sixteenth holes. She was -1 par on the back nine, PC's low-nine holes of the day. She shot a 76 to open the day before improving with a 75 in round two.
- Addy Parker concluded the day T47 for the tournament. She opened the day with an 81 before improving by an impressive eight shots in the second round. She birdied holes three, six, and thirteen en route to shooting a 73 to end the day.
- Maddie Peake also improved from rounds one to two, finishing the day T60. She moved up 11 spots on the leaderboard with a second round 76. She birdied the par-five 17th hole in round two, also making two more birdies in her opening round.
- Caitlyn Gaines made her PC debut on Monday, ending the first day with a total score of 159. She had it going in her second round, carding three birdies on holes three, eight, and twelve. She turned in a 77 in the second round to finish T64 going into day two.

The Blue Hose will compete in the final round on Tuesday morning with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
