PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team wrapped its first round of the 2026-27 season on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 6) at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
Sloane Spessard shot the low round of the day for the Blue Hose, turning in a two-over par 73 to end the day in a tie for 55th. As a team, Presbyterian currently sits in 20th place.
NOTABLES
- Sloane Spessard led the way for the Blue Hose in the opening round, making four birdies en route to shooting a 73. She made birdies on the second, sixth, tenth, and thirteenth holes. She birdied two of the course's four total par fives. She went out in an impressive -1 par 34 on the front nine before coming in with a 39. After one round, she sits in a tie for 55th.
- Addy Parker delivered a nice opening round for the Blue Hose. She carded a first round 74 at Pawleys Island. She made two birdies on the day, taking advantage of the par-four seventh and the par-five fifteenth holes. She shot a 36 on the front nine and a 38 on the back to conclude the first day T64.
- Maddie Peake was steady for Presbyterian on day one, turning in a 77. She birdied the par-four tenth hole while making a total of nine pars. She finished the first round of the tournament in a tie for 89th.
- Chloe Scofield made her debut for the Blue Hose, finishing one shot behind Peake on the first day. She carded a back nine 37, finishing the day with eight straight pars to be T102.
- Gabi Carles made two birdies on her round, scoring on the par-three sixth and par-five fifteenth holes. She ended the day in 119th place.
