CHARLESTON, S.C. ? The Presbyterian College baseball team tied a season best,
scoring 16 runs en route to a 16-13 victory over Charleston Southern Friday afternoon in a Big
South Conference game.
The Blue Hose improve to 6-28 on the season and 2-16 in Big South play. The Bucs fall to
13-24 on the year and 8-9 against conference competition.
Jesse
Harmon notched a game-high four hits to lead head coach Elton Pollock's to the
win. Harmon drove in five runs while scoring three times. Jared Combs, Kenny

across home plate three times each while Combs and Micklon were plated twice.
Rhinesmith, Horton and Grammer each scored once.
The Blue
Hose were able to get their first hit in the third but the squad was unable to
push the run across. However, the fourth frame was a different story.
Harmon singled to lead things off. He then moved to second on Combs' single.
Both moved up on a wild pitch. Then, Bryant tripled both home. Bryant came home
on Rhinesmith's double. With two away, Rhinesmith scampered to third on a wild
pitch. He then came home on a wild pitch to clear the bases.
Micklon
walked, moved to third on Grammer's single and scored on Williams' RBI single.
Harmon then cleared the bases with a three-run homer before the home team was
eventually able to get out of the frame. The damage was done though as PC had
notched eight runs in the inning.
The Bucs
pulled within one after scoring four runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.
The Blue Hose responded in fine fashion, plating two runs in the sixth.
With one
away, Williams walked and moved to second on Harmon's single. Lyda's base on
balls loaded the bases for Combs, who promptly singled in two runs for a 10-7
lead.
The Blue
Hose extended their lead to five with another pair of runs in the seventh.
Horton and Micklon led the stanza off with back-to-back singles. Williams
reached on an error to load the bases. Harmon then came through with a two-run
single for the advantage.
PC tacked
on a run in the eighth without getting a single hit in the inning. Bryant
walked and moved to second when Rhinesmith was hit by a pitch. Horton's walk
loaded the bases. Micklon's deep fly ball scored Bryant to make the score 13-7.
After CSU
added two runs in the bottom half of the eighth, the Blue Hose scored three in
the ninth to put the contest out of reach.
Williams
led off the final at bat with a single. After moving to second on Harmon's
sacrifice bunt, he moved to third when Combs reached on a fielder's choice.
Bryant singled Williams home. Both Combs and Bryant crossed home on
Rhinesmith's double.
The home
squad scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth, but Powell was able to get
out of the inning on a bases loaded jam to preserve the victory.

frames en route to his first win of the season. Hill gave up six runs on seven
hits but struck out six. Moore gave up four runs on three hits in
