ORLANDO,
Fla. - Presbyterian College baseball
dropped the second game of the three-game set at UCF on Saturday afternoon by a
6-1 margin. PC falls to 0-2 in the
series and will look to salvage a win from the trip on Sunday starting at 1
p.m.
The Knights (12-8) touched PC's (5-12)
starting pitcher Steven Richardson up for six runs in six-plus innings of
work. The transfer pitcher allowed 13
hits in the outing, walking two and striking out two. Two runs came in the third while UCF added
three more in the fifth before tacking on one run before Richardson was lifted
with no outs in the seventh.
Andrew Foushee came in and quelled the
Knight threat in the seventh to strand two runners. He also worked the eighth inning, working a
perfect frame.
With the Blue Hose reduced to their
final out, Kenny Bryant laced his first home run of the season over the centerfield
fence. The run prevented the shutout bid
for UCF.
The Blue Hose offense was only able to
produce four hits on the day, stranding six runners, three in scoring
position. Mack Hite, Jesse Harmon,
Bryant and Gabe Grammer each posted singles for PC.
Richardson was saddled with the loss and
falls to 1-4 on the year. UCF's Cicio
was credited with the victory to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The series concludes on Sunday afternoon
with a 1 p.m. match between the Knights and Blue Hose.
