PC Baseball Hosts Kennesaw State in Wednesday Matinee

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (9-13, 0-3) meets the Kennesaw State Owls (11-9, 2-1 Atlantic Sun) on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. for the second and final time this season. PC looks to rebound after a weekend series that saw the Blue Hose stumble in three Big South Conference-opening games to Liberty after topping Kennesaw State on March 14, 9-6.

PC snapped a six-game Kennesaw State winning streak in the all-time series on Wednesday by knocking off the Owls in a 9-6 win, thanks in part to three Andrew Williams home runs. The Owls still hold the series lead, 20-6, and last Wednesday's game marked the first meeting since 2008 and the first PC win since 2004.

The Blue Hose will likely hand the ball to sophomore righthander Chad White, who put PC in position for the win with a five-inning, six-run outing against Kennesaw State on Wednesday. White collected wins in his previous two appearances againts NC Central on March 6 and Davidson on March 4. The Owls will likely start sophomore righty Drew Duncan, who has pitched one inning of shutout ball this season.

Kennesaw State will arrive at the PC Baseball Complex with an 11-9 marker and a 7-5 record on the road this season. The Owls won their third straight series after knocking off Mercer in two out of three games over the weekend. Aaron Dobbs paces the squad with a .366 average at the plate.

PC dropped all three games of its weekend series to Liberty, falling 13-4, 5-2 and 13-3 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Jay Lizanich went .444 over the trio of games, while fellow freshman Billy Motroni posted a .333 average. Kenny Bryant smacked his team-leading fourth home run as well.

The Blue Hose head to Lexington, Va., this weekend to take on VMI in a three-game weekend series. The Keydets began conference play with a 0-3 record and PC will look to build on last year's 5-4 win in the final game of last year's series.
