PC moves to 22-29 on the year and 9-12 in the Big South Conference. Gardner-Webb improves to 28-24 and 10-11 in league action.

Gabe Grammer (Irmo, S.C.) went 3-for-5 on the day and Kenny Bryant (Irmo, S.C.) added a pair of hits. Ryan Burt (Cayce, S.C.) and Tony Micklon (Sumter, S.C.) each drove in a run for the Blue Hose.

Adam McFarland went 4-for-5 for Gardner-Webb and starter Beau Hilton picked up the win with six innings of work.

Beau Dees (Blenheim, S.C.) took the loss for PC, allowing five runs over six innings while striking out three.

The Runnin' Bulldogs scored nine runs over the seventh and eighth innings en route to the win.

Gardner-Webb struck first, using four hits in the second inning to take a 3-0 lead. Zeke Blanton, McFarland and Ryan Hodge each picked up an RBI.

PC scored one run in the fourth, loading the bases before Brad Zebedis (Rock Hill, S.C.) came home on a wild pitch. Nate Chong (Duluth, Ga.) walked to load the bases again but a force out at second ended the frame with the Blue Hose behind, 3-1.

The visitors used five hits and an error to post five runs in the seventh, with two coming on a Blanton RBI single. The Runnin' Bulldogs added four more in the eighth, thanks to two-run hits from Henry Rundio and Benji Jackson.

The Blue Hose took two runs back in the ninth, as Burt entered the game and brought home Bryant on an RBI groundout and Micklon scored Matt Peden (Fountain Inn, S.C.) on a sacrifice fly.

A light rain fell throughout the game as the game began at 12:18 p.m., delayed from a rescheduled noon start.

PC returns to action on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. road game at Duke.
