ATLANTA, Ga. – Presbyterian College baseball fell in its series finale at Georgia Tech's Russ Chandler Stadium on Sunday afternoon, 10-2.
PC moves to 23-24 and will travel to NC Central on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. first pitch in Durham, N.C. Georgia Tech improves to 29-27.
Georgia Tech hit five home runs—with two occasions of back-to-back homers in the first and eighth innings—en route to the win.
PC scored both of its runs on a Ryan Hedrick (High Point, N.C.) triple in the seventh. With two outs, Jacob Midkiff (Rock Hill, S.C.) double and Peter Johnson (Seattle, Wash.) walked to set up Hedrick's two-run triple, his team-leading third of the season. The score cut Georgia Tech's lead to 6-2.
Four different Blue Hose hit safely on the day and Tyler Weyenberg (Marietta, Ga.) extended his hitting streak to nine straight games.
Freshman Tanner Chock (Loris, S.C.) moved to 2-4 on the year, throwing a career-high 6.2 innings. B Gold went seven innings for Georgia Tech to move to 6-2.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on consecutive home runs from Murray and Johnson. Georgia Tech added three more run on a Gonzalez long ball in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead.
After PC cut into the gap in the seventh, the Yellow Jackets answered with two more home runs and a triple in the eighth for the 10-2 final.
