CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator Mark Crocco was named the top recruiter in the Big South, alongside Winthrop's Clint Chrysler, in a survey of 124 Division I coaches conducted by D1Baseball.com.
“Coach Crocco's loyalty, hard work and support for Presbyterian College are tremendous,” said head coach Elton Pollock. “He is driven by a tireless passion for the game and an unwavering faith in God. His intentions are always above and beyond the call of duty. This honor recognizes all of his hard work and dedication. He is 100% committed to our success and this honor is well-deserved.”
Crocco completed his fourth season at Presbyterian in 2016, helping the program to its second straight 27-win season, a Division I era school record. The Blue Hose made its first appearance in the Big South Championship last season, after totaling 12 Big South wins, a school record and a six-game improvement from 2015.
Crocco's guidance helped PC earn a First Team All-Big South honoree and an Honorable Mention selection in 2015 while setting a new Division I record for runs scored. His supervision of the team's fielding helped PC tie a program record in assists, previously set in Crocco's first season.
Crocco arrived at PC in 2013 after two seasons as an assistant coach at The United States Air Force Academy. He also helped guide the squad to four All-Mountain West Conference selections and a school record for fielding percentage in 2011.
