Baseball Drops Game One at Gardner-Webb, 3-2

Boiling Springs, NC – The Presbyterian College baseball team dropped a 3-2 game to Gardner-Webb on Friday night at the John Henry Moss Stadium. The Blue Hose fall to 13-27 overall and 6-10 in the Big South, while the Runnin' Bulldogs improve to 22-18 and 8-8.

How It Happened

In the top of the first, PC jumped out to an early lead after Tannor Byrd walked and AJ Priaulx hit a two-run homer to right field.

GWU would score two runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game. Mickey Dugan doubled to score Ben LaSpaluto, and Corey Howard singled to score Dugan.

In the bottom of the fifth, Eric Jones singled through the right side to score Howard and put GWU up 3-2.

PC's starter, Tanner Chock, lasted 7.0 innings and struck out a season-high nine batters.

The Runnin' Bulldogs would use four pitchers on the day and hold PC to just three hits and allow two walks.

Pitchers of Record

Tanner Chock (2-2) took the loss for PC. He lasted 7.0 innings and allowed three runs on six hits while striking out nine and walking three.

Langdon Wilson (1-0) picked up the win for GWU. He lasted 5.0 innings and allowed just two runs on two hits while striking out one and walking two.

Wil Sellers came on in the ninth inning to pick up his third save of the season.

Game two is scheduled for a 2:00 pm first pitch on Saturday at John Henry Moss Stadium.
