Burgess Inks Four to Class of 2020

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College and head volleyball coach Korrinn Burgess announced the signing of four student-athletes to the class of 2020 on Thursday. Kinsey Bailey (Coppell, Texas), Kasey Battle (Charlotte, N.C.), Hailey Grocholski (North Prairie, Wis.) and Jordan McAda (Fort Worth, Texas) are set to join the Blue Hose for the 2020 season.

"I'm very excited about what all four of these young players will bring to Presbyterian volleyball," said Burgess. "All four are great teammates with extremely competitive, but positive attitudes. We're excited all of them will be able to join us on our summer trip to Costa Rica to jumpstart the 2020 season!"

Kinsey Bailey – S – 5-10 – Coppell, Texas – Coppell HS

Club: Played club ball with Texas Image Volleyball.

Personal: Bailey Kinsey was born in Grapevine, Texas, to John and Laurie Bailey … Sister, Devin, ran track and cross country at Texas Tech, and holds the school record for the indoor 1000m … Chose PC because of the amazing atmosphere and knowing it's a place where I'll be pushed athletically and academically … Intends to major in Biology and wants to be a physician's assistant.

"Kinsey is a Texas kid who just knows how to compete! She'll be a great addition to our current 6-2, but has the height and ability to run a 5-1 if needed."

Kasey Battle – MB/OH – 5-9 – Charlotte, N.C. – North Mecklenburg HS

High School: 2018 All-Conference Selection … Was a Junior Marshall and also a member of the Girl Scouts, National Honor Society and Novant Health Medical Explorers.

Personal: Kasey Battle was born in Charlotte, N.C., to Darlene and Marvin Battle … Chose PC because I like the small class sizes (because I attend a high school with a large population) and thought the environment would fit both my academic and social preferences … Intends to follow the Pre-Med track and wants to be an anesthesiologist or an OB/GYN.

"Kasey is a very athletic player who can play any position across the front row. She has played middle blocker for her club team and has some experience on the outside from high school, but we're planning to convert her fully to a six-rotation outside hitter. She's been working hard to increase her ball control and I'm excited for the depth she'll add to the outside hitter position."

High School: First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-State selection as a senior … Two-time Honorable Mention All-Conference (2016-17) … Helped lead team to first Regional Championship in school history in 2018 and first Sectional Championship and a trip to state's in 2019 … Two-year team captain … Earned the team's Most Improved award in 2016 … Recorded 798 kills and 366 blocks during high school career … Also lettered in basketball … Selected as the basketball team's Most Improved player in 2017 … Member of the National Honor Society and Life of an Athlete.
