Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The Presbyterian College baseball team was unable to overcome an early deficit as Alabama picked up a 7-2 victory over Presbyterian on opening day at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Friday night.

LEADING OFF
- Senior Nick Guimbarda connected on his first home run of the season in the fourth to get Presbyterian on the board.
- Jackson Dean came in out of the bullpen to throw 3.2 innings of shutout baseball as he scattered five hits and picked up a pair of strikeouts.
- Seven Blue Hose recorded at least one of the team's 10 hits highlighted by Rasberry, Smith and Boyd's two-hit contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alabama got out to an early 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the opening inning.
- The Crimson Tide in the second added three and one more in the third to take a 6-0 lead.
- The Blue Hose got on the board with a Guimbarda solo home run in the fourth to make it a 6-1 game.
- Alabama added a run in the fourth to take a 7-1 advantage on the Blue Hose.
- In the fifth, back-to-back singles by Johnny Cook and Rasberry along with a walk from Guimbarda set the table for a Graham Mitchell sacrifice fly to make it 7-2 however the Blue Hose would not be able to get any closer as Alabama grabbed the win on Friday night.
