Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The Presbyterian College baseball team split a Saturday twinbill from the host Alabama as they picked up a 4-1 victory before falling in the series finale 9-4 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

LEADING OFF
- Jimmy Marcelli paced the Blue Hose with five hits in the doubleheader highlighted by a three-hit game in the nightcap. Marcelli racked up three doubles while knocking in a run.
- Zacchaeus Rasberry had four hits included a game-tying home run in the fourth inning of game one. Rasberry had three runs driven in on Saturday.
- Jonathan White, Jeremiah Boyd and Ashby Smith each had a pair of hits in the game one victory.
- In game one, junior Jake Rice threw 5.0 innings as he gave up just one run and struck out a pair en route to victory.
- With his save in game one, Senior Colton Springs moved into a tie for seventh in the Blue Hose D1 record book with his fourth career save.
- The Blue Hose game two starter Reagan Fowler compiled five strikeouts which was just one off of the sophomore's career-high set against La Salle during the 2018 opening weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME ONE
- Alabama struck first with a solo home run in the second inning which was quickly followed up by Rasberry's home run to left center to tie the game at one apiece.
- Presbyterian added a run in the fifth off of a Crimson Tide wild pitch as White scampered home to give PC a 2-1 lead.
- Rasberry added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to extend the Presbyterian lead to 3-1.
- PC took advantage of another Alabama defensive blunder to take a 4-1 lead in the eighth that they would ride to its first victory of the 2019 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME TWO
- PC got out to a fast start as following a White one out single, Graham Mitchell lined a double to right-center to plate White and give the Blue Hose a 1-0 lead.
- Alabama responded with three runs in the bottom half of the first, however the Blue Hose had an answer as following back-to-back singles to open the frame, Rasberry had an RBI single to right that plated two as they were helped out by a Crimson Tide error.
- Alabama regained the lead with two in the bottom of the second to take a 5-3 lead.
- The Crimson Tide tacked on two more in the bottom of the sixth and one more in the seventh to take a 8-3 lead.
- In the eighth, PC picked up an RBI double off the bat of Jimmy Marcelli to make it 8-4 Alabama. The Crimson Tide added one more run in the bottom of the eighth en route to a 9-4 victory on Saturday night.
