Kasay Gambrell Named Head Coach at Winthrop

Rock Hill, S.C. – Kasay Holbrook Gambrell has been announced as the next head coach of the Winthrop University women's golf program, the Eagles announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Gambrell spent the last five seasons at the head women's golf coach at Presbyterian College after spending one season as an assistant coach. During her tenure, the team improved to finish a program-best 4th at the Big South Conference Tournament twice, including last spring. She also developed a pair of individual medalist winners, including Celia Mansour who captured the 2017 Big South individual title with a tournament record 9-under par.

Gambrell graduated from Presbyterian College in 2012 as one of the most distinguished golfers in program history with three school records and numerous accolades. Over the last five seasons, her teams lowered every program record and accumulated seven postseason awards from the Big South including All-Freshman, All-Conference, All-Tournament and Scholar Athlete of the Year.

The search for her replacement will begin immediately.
