Baseball Continues Homestand With Pair Of Midweek Matchups

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team returns to the diamond beginning on Tuesday for a 2 pm first pitch against St. John's at the PC Baseball Complex. The Blue Hose continue their homestand on Wednesday with a 2 pm first pitch against Wofford. The matchup with the Terriers will be broadcast on Fox Sports 98.3 FM.

About the Blue Hose

• Notre Dame used early offense to finish off the three-game sweep of the Presbyterian College baseball team by the score of 9-0 at the PC Baseball Complex on Sunday afternoon. Andrew Livingston led the Blue Hose offense with two hits.
 
Rankings
Austin Paradis is tied for the league lead with seven appearances and also is ninth nationally with his seven games.
Zacchaeus Rasberry sits in third in the Big South with seven stolen bases. He is also tied for third in the league with four doubles.
Kyle Merkle is tied for the league lead with a pair of home runs.
Eric Miles sits in fourth place in the league with 18.2 innings pitched on the season.
David Sweat is tied for sixth in the Big South with five stolen bases.
 
Series History
• Tuesday's matchup with St John's will be the first all-time meeting between the Blue Hose and Red Storm.
• Presbyterian has a 17-13 record all-time against Wofford including the Blue Hose taking all three meetings from the Terriers in 2019.
 
Scouting St John's
•St John's enters Tuesday's contest with a 3-6 mark following being swept by Charlotte last time out. The Red Storm has a win over No. 19 Georgia Tech and a pair of wins over Cal.
• At the plate, Jake Lazzaro leads St John's with a .367 average as he has three doubles and two RBIs on the young season. Sean McGeehan sits at .316 with five doubles and a team-high nine RBIs.
• McGeehan leads the Big East with five doubles. Mike Antico leads the Big East with six stolen bases.
• On the mound, Sonny Fauci has not allowed an earned run in 5.2 innings. Geoff Mosseau has a 1.86 ERA in 9.2 innings with seven strikeouts.
 
Scouting Wofford
• Wofford currently sits at 9-3 after taking 2-of-3 from Merrimack last time out. The Terriers are slated to host Winthrop before heading to Clinton for Wednesday's matchup.
• Lawson Hill sits at a .538 average, while Hudson Byorick is at .364 with five doubles and a home run. Alec Cargin has a team-high 18 RBIs.
• Jake Dippold has not allowed an earned run in 8.1 innings pitched, while O'Kelly McWilliams has not allowed an earned run in six innings.
• Wofford currently leads all of NCAA with 33 stolen bases. Brett Rodriguez is third in the nation with nine stolen bases.
 
Record Chasing
• Senior Eric Miles needs 23 strikeouts to move into third in the Blue Hose D1 record book. Miles currently sits with 189 career strikeouts.
• With his next victory, Miles becomes the Blue Hose D1 record holder for wins with his 22nd victory.
• Senior Zacchaeus Rasberry needs five stolen bases to move into a tie for first in the Blue Hose record book. Rasberry has 30 career stolen bases.
 
2020 Preseason Honors
Eric Miles and Zacchaeus Rasberry both were selected to Perfect Game's Preseason All-Big South Team.
• Perfect Game selected the Blue Hose fifth in its preseason poll
• The Big South Conference Coaches selected PC fifth in the 2020 preseason coaches poll.
• DI Baseball selected Presbyterian fifth in their preseason poll as well.

 
Blue Hose In The Minors 
• Hayden Deal finished the 2019 season with the Florida Firefrogs, the advanced A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Deal appeared in 23 games with the Firefrogs while making 22 starts as he went 5-10 with a 3.24 ERA. He recorded 99 strikeouts in 119.1 innings during the season.
