Career Week Nets Moorhead Freshman of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian College volleyball freshman Rylee Moorhead has been named the Big South Volleyball Freshman of the Week for matches played between Oct. 4-10.

Moorhead totaled 25 kills (3.13/set), 14 digs (1.75/set) and five blocks in the Blue Hose 2-0 weekend against Big South foes Charleston Southern and Radford. The Anderson, S.C. native recorded 11 kills, five digs and a pair of aces in last Tuesday's four-set win over Charleston Southern. She also totaled a season-high .435 hitting percentage in the victory.

Moorhead followed that up with 14 kills, nine digs and a pair of blocks in PC's victory on Friday night over Radford. She recorded a .379 hitting percentage in the contest against the Highlanders.

Moorhead is second in the Big South with 28 service aces on the season.

It is Moorhead's second career Big South award honor as she earned freshman of the week earlier this season. It's also the third time this year that the Blue Hose have received an honor from the conference as Anna Hewitt also was named Libero of the Week earlier this season.

The Blue Hose are back in action tomorrow night in Greensboro facing N.C. A&T at 6 p.m. in league action.
