CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team finished their fall season as they competed at the Gamecock Scramble hosted by South Carolina, and the Furman Hidden Duals hosted by Furman.
The Blue Hose got off to a slow start at the Gamecock Scramble, but they did force some tough sets to their opponents.
Sebastian Dominguez won his first set in his first match, but dropped the following two in the three-set loss. Dominguez bounced back in his second singles match as he defeated Kenner Taylor (Texas A&M), 7-5, 6-1.
Max Benson played a good first two matches and came away with a win in his third taking down Stefan Storch (Texas A&M), 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
Dusan Milanovic also played a great third singles match forcing a tiebreaker in set three, but ultimately falling, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6(7-4).
Presbyterian had much better play at the Furman hidden Duals as
Georgije Babic and
Javier Matos kicked things off with a 6-3 doubles win. Babic and Matos followed that up with singles wins as they both won in three sets, while
Daniel Martens and
Vance Mercer also took home wins. The duo of
Pedro Cardoso and
Teo Cariov grabbed a 6-4 win over Gardner-Webb, while Matos, Babic, and Cariov all scored wins over the Runnin' Bulldogs. Presbyterian's final matches came against Wofford where Matos and Babic won two more singles matches, Matos won 6-4, 7-5, and Babic won 7-6, 7-5.
