CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian College baseball freshman infielder Brody Fahr (Greer, S.C.) has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week for games May 10-16, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Campbell's Spencer Packard (Tucson, Ariz.) has been named the Big South Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Thomas Harrington (Sanford, N.C.) is the Starting Pitcher of the Week for games played May 10-16, it was announced today. In addition, Gardner-Webb's Isaac Campbell (Advance, N.C.) was selected the Relief Pitcher of the Week.
After picking up an RBI in Tuesday's midweek action at Charleston Southern, Fahr recorded three straight games with three hits as a part of the Blue Hose sweep of High Point over the weekend.
He had one three-hit game before the weekend as he matched his career-high in all three contests. In game one on Saturday in High Point, Fahr set a new career-high with three runs knocked in during a 13-11 extra-inning victory. He finished the week with a 3-for-5 performance in game two on Saturday as he scored twice en route to the first PC road sweep since April 2019 against USC Upstate.
Fahr currently sits with a .302 average which is third on the team as he's recorded six doubles and knocked in 16 runs this season. He leads the Blue Hose with seven sacrifices.
It's the fifth Blue Hose to earn a weekly honor from the Big South as Chris Veach earned freshman of the week twice, Charlie McDaniel recorded one of his own and Eric Miles picked up a starting pitcher of the week while Eric Toth was relief pitcher of the week earlier this season.
